Easter Brunch

So my brunch and hunt was a success (thanks to friends who all contributed yummy brunch-y foods). I had so much fun and am so grateful to the Larman's for letting me use their house to continue this fun friend tradition. Thanks also to Christine, only contributor to my help request-shame on the rest of you. We had about 20 adults and at least that many children. I hope that everyone had a great time and will join us next year for the 2nd annual Dallas Egg Hunt:)

*Two major disclosures: 1. Grey totally got the whole find an egg put it in your basket and go look for another one. He was truly adorable. 2. I had a special silver egg that had a prize that went with it (coloring books, crayons, play dough etc.) and Lucy is the child that found it. I am so sorry to everyone. It was not my intention for my own child to find the winning egg. Slightly embarrassing, but she wanted it so bad and had been talking about finding the egg for weeks. She was so happy that as her mother I have to be glad that she accomplished her life's goal.

Swimming Lessons!!!!!

Lucy FINALLY put her head under water:) After years of lessons if we found the right teacher (plus I think it helped that her friend Sara L was in the class with her head under the water the whole time during classes) and that there were only a total of 4 girls (private class). She did sooo well. The lessons were every day for two weeks and Lucy improved every single day. She did so well that I have already signed her up for July. I was deathly sick the whole first week of lessons but I made-and it was so worth it! Lucy we are just so proud of you.

Thank you Miss Carol! And thank you Larmans for making us do it:)

Grey Eating Oreos

Kindergarten Program

Lucy had her first school program. Each child had a part to say and there was lots-o-singing. It was great. Lucy even had to say another child's part (kid was a no show). Grey LOVED watching all of the kids. Good job Lu!

Spring Break 2009 continued....

I mentioned before that the last two days of Lucy's Spring Break was spent with friends Christina, Sara, and Clayton. I had planned a zoo outing but days of migraines canceled my plans so Christina was sweet enough to take Lucy, let her sleepover, and take her to Chuck E Cheeses the next morning. She posted these pics on her blog so I stole them. But what is so sweet is that the next week at school Lucy had to make a book about what she did over Spring Break. Not one thing was mentioned about all that I did with her, no Build A Bear, no parks, picnics, kite flying, or Arboretum. Nope all she wrote and drew about was her two days with the Larmans. I was a little sad but am so glad she has good friends that she is 100% comfortable to be with. My little girl is growing up-still-and it sucks.

Easter Brunch Help

Okay thanks to Darice A from Bmore I have to continue the Easter Brunch tradition (even though I have skipped a year here and a year there). We get together with a few friends, have everyone bring some yummy food, and have an egg hunt for the youngens. But I want to make a breakfast casserole and that is where y'all come in. I need yummy, easy, tested and tried recipes. So start sending them NOW please:)

Kate S that means you

I LOVE Yo Gabba Gabba!

Grey does NOT like to watch TV because to do so you have to hold still for it. And Grey does NOT hold still-seriously. But this past week I have been oh so sick (think it was a combo of a bug, colitis, and exhaustion) so I have had kid's shows on and he has finally clued in that Yo Gabba Gabba is AWESOME (so we can finally watch all the episodes I've DVR-ed). Seriously I love it-its almost hypnotizing. And I know this will sound so pathetic, but they have been advertising for a few weeks that Jack Black would be on TODAY. I had it all set up to record and we just finished. It was so funny-like I laughed out loud. What can I say Jack Black cracks me up. But it also made my son do this:
As Kristin would say-nuff said!

For more Gabba Gabba and all the gabba friends please visit (if you don't have kids or you do but don't let them watch TV and you want to know what all the buzz is about):
