The Muzac is Back

As per my mother-in-law's request the music is back-hope you enjoy! I have to say that every song I put on my blog has a reason behind. Like Just Fine by Mary is one that Lucy and I LOVE to dance to and sing together! So I hope you enjoy the music-if not just hit pause and enjoy the silence.

Oh Grey!

Adorable right? This was taken right after he took a whole banana and mashed it into the carpet in three places and all over his new "ride on" truck. Ugggghhh. Although I am a little to blame since I gave it to him. I guess I just don't know his strength.

All About Grey at Nine Months

How I have to do my makeup with him on the counter. No that is not a glare on the mirror it is his smeared saliva. So gross I don't even want to go there. Yes those are makeup sponges-new of course. Oh well it makes him happy.
I love this sleeping position-ohhhh. Yes he is wearing only a diaper for his nap and no I am not a bad mom because of it!
I know it looks like he is trying to eat the doll, but really he just wants to carry it to the other room and he doesn't have a hand to spare. Yes I know this is a chocking hazard, I try to catch him before he does something like this. Like I said he is fast. I would have died if Lucy had done this.

I took Grey to the dr yesterday, he has been having high fevers so we just wanted to have him checked out. Hes good-it Roseolla which is just a virus. But he was weighed-21lbs 14oz at just a little over nine months. And that got me thinking that it was time for another update. As we all know now he is crawling and in just this last week he has gotten so fast. I can't put him down run into the kitchen to get something and then be back in time to stop him from also coming into the kitchen and whining at me. He is just too fast for that now. Grey loves to be in big sis' room, already I am hearing "Mom get Greyson out of here, I don't want him in my room". He loves to play with Lucy's Polly Pockets, My Little Ponies, and Littlest Pet Shops. The other day he was in his Jumperoo holding a doll and I thought this kid needs some cars. We were at a friend's house and she had a big yellow dump truck. He pulled it towards himself and said, "grrrrrrr". What a boy. He loves to play ball. We sit on the floor and I roll it to him. He always catches it and rolls it back to me. Grey figured this game out immediately. Lucy never enjoyed it-still doesn't. Grey loves to say "bah bah" (as in bye bye) and wave when its time to go. In fact sometimes we are somewhere and he does this to let me know its time to leave. Grey still doesn't really like baby food and still loves to eat what ever we are eating. He loves to play in the water which is great since we do that 3 times a week. And Grey is still very stubborn and a mama's boy. But he is also very sweet and loving. He knows and loves his family. Yesterday we dropped Lucy off at a friend's and he cried because she was gone. He loves to be held and cuddled (which mom and dad also love except for the sore necks, arms, and backs. Seriously he doesn't know how big he really is). And Grey is figuring out kisses. He loves to give them is you don't mind your face literally covered in saliva. He also loves other kids and babies-really-just as long as I am not holding them:)

More Water Fun Y'All

By now you are all wondering if all we do is find new ways to play in the water, and the answer is YES. Either that or stay inside all day. Lucy has a new BF and we went to a water park with Melina and her mom Yvette (meaning just like a regular park playground but with water added) and all had a blast!!! The water was just below my knee so the girls could play any where and we didn't have to worry about them (we did watch them but with lifeguards felt safe to let them have their distance). SO nice. And of course Grey loved all the spraying water. I actually was able to relax and enjoy myself also. Great day thanks to Yvette!

FHE

We had a great FHE this week. Here in Dallas they have spray parks, which they may have other places but we had never heard of them before and LOVE them. They are free and super fun in this Texas heat. The first pic is of Adam spraying Lucy (she is in the left bottom corner). The last I know is dark of Grey and me, but I looked terrible from cleaning all day so I prefer that no one can see my face too well. So I didn't edit it or put the other pic taken that you can see me in all of my exhausted glory! They are great because there is also a playground. So when Lucy gets cold which she does every time, she can play and warm up to be ready for more water fun.

PS I must say that I really do love Texas. I love my playgroups, our library, our ward, my book club, new girlfriends, and the area. So yes Emily G we are all really enjoying it here. I have never liked an area we have moved to this quickly!

Lucy's Talk

Lucy gave her first Primary talk in our new ward today. I knew that she was nervous so I wrote it with a lot of speaking parts for myself. As it turned out I gave all of the speaking parts even though we practiced twice last night, Lucy woke me up early this morning to practice, and we practiced several more times this morning. "We" talked about sharing the gospel with others, Lucy drew these awesome pics of how she can share the gospel with others. 1. Give someone The Book of Mormon (the red blob with I am a Child of God on it is the scripture pencil she got in Primary a few weeks ago). 2. Invite a friend to church. 3. Bare her testimony. I had to tell everyone what her pics were all about, but she did stand beside me the whole time with her head buried in my neck so she does get credit for that!

Go Rangers!

Lucy before and Lucy after!

Last night we went to Lucy and Grey's first MLB game. We met up with the other pedo residents in Adam's year. Lucy was sooooo excited which surprised Adam and me. But she couldn't wait to eat all the junk food we could fit in our stomachs and we did. I thought I would just list it all:

  • Cotton Candy 1st (of course)

  • Hot Dogs

  • Nachos

  • Fries

  • Sodas

  • Peanuts

  • Snow Cones

I guess we thought we had to try one of everything.

It was free ball cap night (yeaaa) and Adam thought it was necessary to get the kids their own Texas Ranger t-shirts along with a foam finger (which was hitting me in the face or poking me in the eye all night). It was really hot (like 100 degrees even after 9pm), but we didn't let that keep us from having a great time. We knew it was time to go when Lucy asked us if it was past her bedtime. She also let us know her stomach hurt-still not sure why:) But other than stomachaches it was a great night we will never forget.

Day 3

Bike AGAIN!!!!!!

Tuesday, July 8, 2008

Day 2 of Crawling

Adam and I talked about this last night, we were so excited to have Grey crawl-what we were thinking? I am so tired from chasing him around. I miss being able to put him in one spot and finding him there a minute later. All you hear throughout our apartment is "Greyson noooooo" from Adam, Lucy, and me. He is going to be a handful. Yesterday I put him down by me while I was changing the sheets on my bed. Next thing I knew he is "playing" with Ad's bike. Trying to pull it down I guess so he could ride on it. He even got his first bike grease on his hands. Daddy was so proud! I am so tired.
PS Lucy has lost 3 teeth so far and has written letters to the Tooth Fairy asking to keep them. She has a special box for her teeth, Grey found the box this morning, opened it, and tried to eat her teeth. As Brooke L would say Ewwww.

Goodbye Grammie and Grampie

We have had so much fun with my parents and were of course sad to see them go. Grey really took to Grandpa. They were best buds. I don't know who will miss Grandpa more Grey or me. My Dad would get up in the night with Grey (no he is still not sleeping through the night) and would also get Grey in the mornings and take him on walks by the lake so I could sleep in (Grey is still an early riser). My Mom would spend the days making yummy lunches and dinners. It was so wonderful to have a little vacation from cooking. Adam and I also got to have a date day while my parents watched the kids. We actually got to see a movie together and at the theater!!! I have truly have been spoiled by my parents and I will miss them.

Happy 4th of July!

We started our day at our ward party which included recognizing the vets in our ward by having them stand in front for the flag raising. Yes I made Adam go up and no he did not enjoy it. But hey he got escorted by a boy scout back into the church and was given his breakfast first. Sooo worth it:) After breakfast they had a bike parade for the Primary kids. My dad spent the previous day decorating Lucy's bike and yes we were all a little tense until we had sized up the competition and knew Lucy was a shoe in! Not only was her bike decorated but she had glittery body stickers, tiara on her helmet, and a balloon tied to the back. But right before the parade started she climbed onto my lap and told me that her stomach hurt. I asked why and she said, "what if I don't win?" Poor girl, she has inherited her Mom's and Grandpa's competitiveness. But she did great-oh and I did tell her it didn't matter if she won, it was about having fun. She ended up taking 2nd place. The family with the decorated wagon won. Which Adam said that a wagon should not have won a bike race. Yes they were cute but no they didn't compare to Lucy. And no we are not biased! But she had fun and received a medal and has been wearing it ever since!Nervously checking out the competition
Having Fun!
Hot and tired-Texas is HOT y'all
Grey got a participation ribbon-we couldn't be more proud of him!
We ended the day with eating out, a little shopping, swimming, our own "incredible" firework show (meaning poppers and snaps), and Lucy making us some red, white, and blue cupcakes.
She just can't help herself when it comes to frosting.
