Okay so its time for me to admit two things. First I saw Twilight. It took awhile. I waited to see it in the theaters with my friend Kelly but when we FINALLY went to see it it turned out it was playing at 11:15pm NOT am. (so we went with our yummy food but were turned away because it wasn't playing for another 12 hours) So then Kelly rented it when it came out we planned on a movie day last Monday-but I had a Dr appt I had forgotten about so had to leave early. So finally later in the week and I watched it. And the verdict? I really liked it. Okay initially I found it cheesy when I was watching the beginning with Amber and Kelly. But when I got to sit and watch it by myself while Grey was napping I enjoyed it. I mean I really liked it. Which is odd because I am not a fan of any of the books (and I have read them all). So I guess if you go in expecting the worst you can not and this time I was not disappointed:) Please do not judge me...

Ug--how could you make it through all the books if you weren't a fan? I died somewhere around page 15 of the second book...
weird, I love the books but hated the movie. But I told Kelley that I did enjoy it more the second time than the first. I probably had too high expectations when I first saw it and none the second time.

I actually felt pretty similar about both the books AND the movie... I know intellectually that I SHOULDNT like these infectious little stories, but DANG IT... I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSELF!!! I found myself wanting to re-rent it on one of those cold rainy days last week... sigh...
I liked the movie. I'll admit it. And ironically, I am popping it in right now because I am going to make Greg watch it with me since he doesn't understand why there was so my hype about the whole series. Loved the family collage by the way. So cute!
I liked the movie too actually - maybe because I had low expectations and was surprised by how well-acted it was. But mostly. Mostly. Because it wasn't saturated with Bella's thoughts, which made me nearly puke reading the books.
I saw it in the theater and was really disappointed. I rented it this week and watched it by myself and enjoyed it a lot more. I thing the absence of giggly teens made it easier to watch.
I think emily has it right-i truly could not stand Bella or her thoughts in the books...and the low epectations helped. and MariLouise-I read them the month before Grey was born while I was in UT stressing over the whole situation. The were able to distract-even if it was through irritation!

I loved the movie. I am like a giddy old lady feeling young again when I watch it. It's purely for fun, and people are too analytical about the Twilight books! I too, have felt sheepish about admitting that I liked them, but I don't know why. Because I don't want to be part of the crowd? Because I'm too cool or too educated or... what? Of course it's not going to win any awards, but there's a reason that things are popular, and it's okay to like trendy things once in awhile! It's not fine literature, and the movie is low-budget, but it's fun! That said, I agree with everyone that Bella is so annoying. In the books and the movie! But I still like it. :) That will be 2 cents, please.
Oh, and one more thing: After all his mocking, Jason saw it on a flight to NY and really liked it. There you have it.
Okay bishop Jason liked it? It realy was good:)
