Grey Made His Bed!

He tried so hard and was so proud, but I do want to mention he was in BIG trouble and in time-out and was trying to make-up for his bad behavior. He did it on his own, his own idea. I was so shocked and it of course melted my heart and he was no longer in time-out. Yep, he has me wrapped around his fat, little finger.

What I love about this is that he knows that his zebra goes on display in front of all of his pillows, but his "display" pillows are behind everything. Sooooo close. And yes, I left his bed that way all day long.

Our House, Is a Very Very Very Fine House......

*These pics did not post in the same order that I uploaded them, but there are WAY TOO MANY to delete and try again only to have them do the exact same thing.

I bought a house!!! Well Jim (my dad) bought me a house. I make my monthly mortgage payments-I feel like such a grown up every time I say "mortgage payment" so I enjoy saying it quite a bit. I will repay him in time, but not right away while I am trying to finish school.

Refinished kitchen table and chairs that used to be my parents' when they were first married.

FINALLY, I was able to use glass knobs from Anthropologie!!!! I have been waiting for years for just the right piece.

Every student needs a desk in their room (unfortunately).

Downstairs :) Love this collage of my kids-they are so beautiful. How lucky am I to have them?

Every new home needs a wall to be colored on...in black permanent marker...by a crazy 4 year old....who thinks he is soooo funny.

This was supposed to be up with my desk and dresser pics, but I guess the best was saved for last. I LOVE my headboard. I told my dad what I wanted and he did it. He drew it and built it. It is perfection. (Notice the ceramic Anthro knobs-joy!)

Elf On the Shelf

Santa left an early present under our tree this morning and the kids were excited! Lucy's main concern was that it was a Christmas present and they shouldn't open it until Christmas morning. Although I had no idea where it came from I was able to convince her that Santa would not be angry if they had opened it. They named him Jr. I hope this helps with their fighting........

......doubt it!

My FirstThanksgiving day in My Very Own Home!

All Grey wanted was Pirate Booty....well he actually wanted Cheetos and ice cream, this was our compromise.

After dinner down time with Aunt Amy. Grey loves his Auntie who is also a kindergarten teacher and was kind enough to take the time to play counting games with him while I rested in the chair playing Tetris (yeah I felt a little guilty but kept thinking what a wonderful chance it was for Grey to spend time with family-FINE I was tired and wasn't up for entertaining a 4 year old).

I am soooo EXHAUSTED!

Mornings

This is what I wake up to almost every morning. I put him in his own bed each night and sometime between midnight and 5am this boy makes his way into my bed. I want to say I hate it and I REALLY need to break him of this habit, but the few times he has slept through the night I admit I miss him soooo much. My baby just turned 4 and is no longer a baby. How do I know? He is too big for Carters' footy jammies. So I just enjoy these moments while I still have them.

Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Good Night

Tonight was a good night. We ate frozen pizza rolls and fresh pear slices while reading books in front of our fireplace. Lucy was reading the latest Diary of a Wimpy book and Grey and I were reading a superhero book (of course). They were in bed by 8:30 and both fell quickly to sleep. Best night EVER. I miss them both so much. I miss so many things. I love you both so very much. I NEED more time with and for both of you. Thank you for putting up with so much. You little lives have become so crazy.

Two pics of their happy nights recently: Grey playing with Grandpa's Christmas carousel (was brand new-until you broke a horse off shortly after this pic was taken), and eating dinner at Lucy's most favoritest restaurant, Chuck-a-Rama (which she had to take me kicking and screaming to-hate that place ugh, but isn't it obvious why she likes it so much)
