Easter 2010

This year I started my Easter weekend with a 30 mile bike ride around Dallas. I was fun, fast, and a beautiful morning. I did it with my friend Ruth and had a great time. I am actually preparing for the MS150 in a month! Its 150 miles in 2 days and Im really excited about reaching this goal. This kids and Adam went to the Ward Egg Hunt which I missed because of work. Easter Morning was great. The kids loved their baskets and the eggs hidden around the house. Lucy's were filled with money and Grey's were filled with mini Car cars. Then off to the Larman's for bfast and egg hunt. And later to Dr Ryan and Julie's house for a yummy dinner. We had such a wonderful day. Oh and Mom and Dad had a surprise at the end of the day. Roller skates for Lu and scooter for Grey Grey.

Two Hot Mamas

So my friend Kristin and I had this AWESOME idea to take our 4 kids camping with no dads. And if I do say so myself we rock! It was so much fun. It was Spring Break and decided 2 days 2 nights in the wilds of Texas was defiantly the best way to spend it. We went to Eisenhower State Park. Set up camp, cooked, hiked, threw rocks, and made a few necessary trips to a nearby Walmart and Sonic (cause I needed a Coke y'all).
Kristin making the BEST pancake bfast (according to Lucy).
John, Lucy, and Grey with their hiking sticks (love how they all posed).
Little Erin and Kristin
Rock throwin
Lucy and John
All 6 of us-seriously how cool of moms are we!!!
The one and only picture I was able to get of all 4 kids together.
Look!
Not sure what they were doing.
Kristin brought an awesome surprise for me, but I actually never got to sit in the hammock:)

S'mores!
Mmmmmm-it was St Patrick's day thus the green polish. Oh and we did have a visit from a Leprechaun. He knew who's camping chairs was who's and put cool little toys in them for the kids.
The best moment for me of the whole trip. Cuddling with Grey in front of the campfire.
So cute the first night Grey could NOT believe that I was going to make him sleep in the tent. He kept saying, "Go home, Grey got home to Grey's house." Second night he was a pro! This was (I am so ashamed to say) was his first camping trip. By two Lucy had spent more time hiking and camping than most adults. Sorry Grey but I'm you liked it and your cool new orange sleeping bag.

AAHHHHHHH

I don't know if anyone is still reading this but I will get back into it. I lost the cord to my camera so downloading pics just hasn't been happening. Yes I could buy a new one, yes I go to Target frequently but no I NEVER remember to buy one. But one GREAT bit of news is that I was accepted to the University of Utah for Fall 2010. Yep that's right I will finally become a Running Ute and can hardly wait to wear my red proudly. Don't ask when I will be done-haven't talked to the transfer people yet. But yeah! I'm really doing it. So far I have gotten some great advice from my friend Kelly. 1. Don't take a rolling backpack to school 2. Don't take a doughnut cushion to sit on no matter how hard the chairs are 3. Don't wear a blazer with pads on the elbows or the other students will think I am the professor. Kind of sucks to be the old mom lady of the class (you have to admit we all hated them in our classes). But it rocks to be doing what I have always felt so strongly about finishing.<span class=

Ode to Lucy

My last post was about Grey so of course I have to make sure everything is even and do one about Lucy. First pic is a roller coaster at Sea World that Lucy wanted to go on. I have never been so scared in my life. I was shaking-and I wasn't even on the damn thing. Adam got that honor and he also was shaking! But Lucy loved it!
Okay this was more my speed, the kiddie roller coaster. Yep I screamed. Yep Lucy was embarrassed. I have learned that she will be of me from here on out. I am no longer cool or funny-I am MOM.

Lucy at her school carnival with a classmate.
The had pony rides with like 10 people surrounding her. There was no way she was going to fall off.
I think I mentioned before how rough this school year has been on Lucy. So I decided to do anything (within reason) to help her adjust. Lucy really wanted me to bring a cake in for her teacher's bday. It was a HIT! Do you understand what it was? A desk, paper clips, pencil, lined paper.....

I don't know if I mentioned before that Ms Matere is from Kenya!!! I was so excited for my daughter to have a beautiful black teacher with an even more beautiful accent. School is hard, Ms Matere is strict and makes them work, but its AWESOME.

Post About Grey

Grey had a rough week. I took him to the Dr a week ago and was sent to the er immediately then admitted to the hospital for RSV. I knew it had to be bad for two reasons. One that he is NEVER sick and two NOTHING slows him down so when I couldn't get him to wake up after 16 hours I knew something was wrong. It came on his so fast within two days he went from being crazy Grey to this:
(we were sooo close to getting rid of the binkie)
He was dehydrated but after some yummy IV (which if I remember correctly from my pregnancy is so so good) and lots of meds and another 24 hours of sleep he started to perk right up:
(He didn't remember ever having a Popsicle before so he was super excited)
Lucy and I went to Build a Bear to make him something to feel better. The bear was so cute in its hospital gown, thermometer, and tissues. (side note Lucy made herself one also for her straight "E" as in excellent report card and her bear cost twice as much as Grey's-seriously. She wasn't about to be too thoughtful and generous to her brother). He never got over his HATE for all people in the medical field but he is home and better.

(we had to watch the same 3 Thomas the Train DVDs for like 2 days straight aaahhhhh)

So I decided to put more phone pics of Grey. Kind of my ode to Grey:
Grey and Erin "helping" Kristin and me make Adam's bday cake. I finally gave them a huge chunk of cake and let them go at it. They LOVED it!
Awesome Turntable bday cake that Grey could NOT wait for the party to start eating.
At Stone Table park with buddies:Clayton, Erin, and Hayley (Can't tell but all 4 were fighting over that big bag of Pirate Booty)
Grey's fav truck from Christmas. Its just the way he rolls
Grey's fav way to watch TV: with his sister, friends, and lots o candy.

Grey's New (well it was when I took the pic) Hat!
Grey's 2nd New Hat-this one he picked out all by himself.
Pretty much Grey at the dinner table every night. If he wants something he goes after it, even if its on someone's plate.

Best Buddy Clayton
Last but not least Grey found a hole! Hole which he loves. Grey doesn't actually pick just likes to rest his finger there. It has also become a comfort when he is nervous-really.

Christmas Morning (a little late)

And I still haven't done Thanksgiving! (we went to San Antonio, enjoyed the River Walk and Sea World-it ROCKED) But I will as soon as I find the cord to download the pics from my camera (xmas pics are from Adam's).

Okay Christmas this year consisted of:
Grey of course not understanding the whole Santa thing but digging the whole present thing.
Awesome presents including: "Cars" cars and other fantastic "Cars" memorabilia, choo choo table along with Thomas of course, Mr Potato Head, Legos, Art Easel and supplies, Little Tikes B.Ball Hoop, Razor scooter, Junie B Jones and Diary of a Wimpy Kid books (more for me and Adam than Lucy), Wii Games (Super Mario Bros old school style and Adam's fav Just Dance!), Play Dough, and Nintendo DSi (which brings me back to the days where I DREAMED of owning a Nintendo Game Boy but alas Santa never heard my cries).
(Mommy is so so pretty)

Heavy, Heavy presents.....
All hot pink with flowers of course.
We got to dog sit this Christmas. Tucker was such a great dog. So so mellow and good. Poor thing never barked or jumped on furniture except when he was trying to get away from Grey. Tucker was PETRIFIED of Grey. And really if you have met Grey can you blame him? (seriously)
We had a wonderful Christmas. We played and napped and ate. It was relaxing and just perfect. Both kids were so excited and happy about each of their presents. Thanks Dad for working so hard and providing us with so much.
